The Perfect Rainy Day Wedding in Destin, FL

The very first day of hurricane season, Tropical Storm Cristobal made its first appearance. Stacy immediately texted her SunQuest wedding planner to ask about the rain back up plan. Julie Fabozzi, SunQuest’s Director of Events, was already altering floorplans to accommodate a ceremony and reception aboard the SOLARIS Yacht. Likewise, SunQuest’s chefs, florists, and coordinators met to go over the revised plans of Stacy and Johnny’s big day. Before Stacy could worry, she and Johnny were briefed on potential solutions.

It’s like rain on your wedding day

With rain back up plans in place, Stacy and Johnny said “I Do!” on the second deck of the interior dining salon aboard the 125′ yacht, SOLARIS. Stacy opted for a clean and tropical design for their ceremony and reception. Adorning white lilies and birds of paradise, Stacy’s custom bouquet was designed by SunQuest’s in-house florist. Bud vases and candles lined the aisle to meet a white chiffon arbor. The reception design included SunQuest’s pre-designed tropical decor package, which Stacy and Johnny customized with their SunQuest Wedding Planner. Lush greenery lined the reception tables and buffet. Above all, the reception space was light and tropical.

Retreating to the main deck for a free-flowing buffet, the SunQuest team quickly reset the 2nd Deck for cocktails and admiring the Choctawhatchee Bay. While winds kept the event dockside for the evening, guests danced the night away to live entertainment. There was not a dry eye aboard the yacht as Stacy danced with all four of her sons.
