Shelby and Nate’s Destin Yacht Wedding – May 2019
Congratulations to the amazing newlyweds Shelby and Nate! These lovebirds got married this past Memorial Day weekend on a beautiful day in Destin Florida on the SOLARIS yacht. Shelby and Nate wanted the convenience of hosting their Florida destination wedding and reception at the same venue and the SOLARIS yacht was the perfect choice. Their wedding day was filled with love, laughter and lots of purple.
Shelby and Nate are high school sweethearts from Mississippi who dated for over six years before getting married. Shelby is the youngest of three girls in her family and the last girl in her family to be married so this was a big deal!
Shelby and Nate fell in love with the SOLARIS yacht in Sandestin and the magical setting it offered for their wedding and reception. They loved the all-inclusive, convenient experience but Shelby had one important request – she wanted the entire yacht to be immersed in purple, her signature color. Our wedding planners were so excited to run with this theme and make their Destin wedding dreams come true.
Our in-house florist used all shades of purple throughout the wedding flowers to include the bouquets, altar arrangements for the sky deck bridal platform and reception centerpieces. From dark plum to light purple colors, the wedding flowers were also accented with beautiful white roses and lush greenery to make the arrangements really pop. A cross adorned with beautiful purple flowers was the ideal focal point of the SOLARIS sky deck altar.
As the SOLARIS cruised the local waters into the stunning sunset, everyone gathered on the open air sky deck for an unforgettable Destin wedding. Shelby put on the finishing touches at the private bridal suite on the second deck before meeting her groom upstairs. The picture perfect sunset, accented with all things purple, was a majestic background as Nate and Shelby said I Do on the open waters. After the beautiful nautical nuptials, the newlyweds and their bridal party soaked up the sunset and coastal breezes with laughs and fun pictures.
During sunset wedding pictures, their guests went downstairs to the main deck for a gorgeous reception out at sea. Our wedding planners continued the theme with purple fabric chair accents, beautiful tall crystal flower centerpieces and custom lighting. The special bride and groom table featured regal purple fabric accents, crystal decor and a custom crystal chandelier with a sparkle that complimented the glistening waters behind it. Guests indulged in coastal cuisines while watching Nate and Shelby share their first dance as husband and wife.
Their signature exit was just as amazing as guests greeted them with sparklers as Shelby and Nate walked down the marina under purple umbrellas. A perfectly romantic ending to this unforgettable destination wedding and the newlyweds. Here’s to a lifetime of blessings and love for Shelby and Nate!
