For today’s Wedding Wednesday, our wedding planners brainstorm fun theme ideas for weddings on the SOLARIS yacht. With an amazing venue and stunning environment, the sky’s the limit when it comes to ideas for themes and decor for Destin weddings.
If you want to go down the nautical route, you can do cute save-the-date cards with a white rope tied in a knot (Save-the-date as we Tie the Knot) or “We Anchored the Date”. One couple used “Two less fish in the sea” as their theme and carried it out throughout the wedding and reception. “A Voyage of Love” could be another fun theme, using nautical maps and captain’s logs.
Two of our favorite ideas was asking guests to leave you a message in a bottle for you to read on your first anniversary and having guests sign personalized wooden paddles that you can display in your home. We’ve even had not only grooms, but brides where boat shoes under their wedding dresses.
You could also theme your wedding around coastal elegance, using soft pastel colors (sky blues to sunset corals with silver accents). Decor could include anything from starfish and shells to sugar white sand from the beaches of Destin and floating candles in fishbowls. Some brides have had flip flop buckets for guests and served a signature tropical drink from the SOLARIS bar.
