We’re ending the year with another amazing Destin destination wedding on the SOLARIS Yacht venue in Sandestin. Our wedding planners were thrilled to meet Diane and Kevin and help them plan their dream wedding on the SOLARIS yacht right before Christmas.

Here’s their touching story of how they met and their engagement as told by Diane:

We met using Match.com. I knew by his pictures because he had a beard, he was tall/dark/handsome, he had a brown dog, and he loved the outdoors, it definitely meant I needed to meet him.

Our first date was at the Bluegill Restaurant on the Causeway, and he wore a white button down shirt and blue jeans. I wore a blue floral sundress that he told me he really liked. The date went well where we became acquainted, and since I told him my first day of orientation at my new job was the next day, he said he’d get me home early.

After that, we had a second date in downtown Fairhope, where we stayed out late and met a bunch of his friends who also happened to be out and about. It then started with dinners at his house, where he liked to cook for me fish he had caught and vegetables he had grown. It progressed quickly to spending every evening together, where we came to the realization that we were more alike than we could have ever thought.

It quickly dawned on me that this was who I had needed all along and that I was in love.
We have enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling, and spending even the most mundane of days together. We are proud that together we have added fruiting trees to our yard and have nurtured a garden (pictured below) inspired by his late Grand Daddy.

In October after work one day, Kevin took me through our recently turned over garden that we had spent some of that weekend working on, telling me that we do such a great job working as partners. After walking slowly through the garden for some time admiring our hard work by flashlight, he took me between the house and garden and faced me. He told me how much he loves me and how happy he is. He told me that we make good partners and I agreed.

He continued by saying that much like a good marriage, working in the garden requires weeding, hard work, and working together. He then began to kneel, getting down on his knee, held my hands, and asked “…I was wondering, will you be my partner forever?”

Congrats again to Kevin and Diane – we can’t wait for the BIG day to celebrate your love for each other.
